Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the West Yorkshire moors, SMJ Falconry offers an exclusive, hands-on birds of prey experience. Operating entirely by private booking means there are no crowds, no queues, and no interruptions. Whether you choose our half-day introduction or the comprehensive full-day immersion, you will be handling and free-flying magnificent raptors from our collection of over 50 birds under the dedicated guidance of our professional falconers.
Half Day Experience
Approx 2.5 Hours (Morning or Afternoon)
Enjoy an engaging and interactive session where you will meet a diverse range of species, learning about their unique characteristics, hunting habits, and incredible speed capabilities. Step out into the beautiful Yorkshire countryside to hold and free-fly owls, hawks, and falcons directly to your glove. Light refreshments are provided during your visit.

The ultimate falconry encounter for the true bird of prey enthusiast. Spend the entire day with our team, going behind the scenes to learn about the birds before heading out for extensive flying sessions.
You will handle and fly a wide variety of raptors from our diverse collection. As we always put animal welfare first, the specific species flown on the day will vary based on the birds' needs, but you can expect an unforgettable mix of owls, hawks, and falcons, and potentially encounters with our largest species. (Please bring your own packed lunch; complimentary tea and coffee are provided).

Want to share the memory? Spectator spaces are available for both half and full days at a reduced rate. Spectators can enjoy the beautiful scenery, take photos, and join for refreshments, but will not handle or fly the birds. You can easily add a spectator during the checkout process.
