Bringing Learning to Life

Yorkshire & Lancashire Educational Visits

Engaging students from Early Years to Secondary

We bring the wonder of the natural world directly into your school hall or classroom. Our visits are far more than just "showing birds"—they are highly interactive, unforgettable educational sessions tailored perfectly to fit your specific curriculum needs.

  • Curriculum-Aligned: Tailored content for EYFS right through to KS4, covering food chains, habitats, nocturnal animals, and biological adaptations.
  • Indoor Free-Flying: We regularly fly our birds straight over the students' heads right inside your school hall to demonstrate flight mechanics in action!
  • Safe Handling: Pupils get the thrilling opportunity to wear a falconer's gauntlet and hold a bird of prey. (Please note: For the welfare of our birds, we do not allow petting or stroking, teaching students ultimate respect for wildlife).
  • Peace of Mind: Our team arrives with full DBS checks, comprehensive Risk Assessments, and Public Liability Insurance.

Handling & Interaction

Students don the glove for a safe, memorable, hands-on encounter and Q&A session.

"I booked SMJ to come to my school as a starter activity to the half term. The experience for the children was excellent and three year one classes all sat in absolute silence as they were totally memorized by the different owls on display. I work in an inner city school where many of the children don't have much access to the country side so I half expected the children to be scared. The calm nature of the handler and the interesting talk put them at ease and they all held the owls. As a teacher it was so rewarding to see the children get so much out of it and have an experience that they would never get outside school. SMJ are well worth the money and I would recommend anyone to book them. I can't wait until this time next year when I will book them again."
